On March 25, Ambassador Li Baodong, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for March, chaired a Security Council meeting, in which Council members heard the briefing on the situation in Côte d'Ivoire given by Atul Khare, UN Assistant-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations. The meeting was followed by Security Council informal consultations, where Council members exchanged views on the issue of Côte d'Ivoire.
