Ambassador Li Baodong Chairs a Security Council Meeting on Sierra Leone

On March 24, Ambassador Li Baodong, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for March, chaired a Security Council meeting to review the situation in Sierra Leone. Council members were briefed by Mr. Michael von der Schulenburg, Executive Representative of the Secretary-General for the UN Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Sierra Leone, and Ambassador John McNee, Permanent Representative of Canada to the UN and PBC Country-specific Configuration Chair for Sierra Leone. Foreign Minister J.B. Dauda of Sierra Leone attended the meeting and made a statement. The meeting was followed by Security Council informal consultation, where Council members exchanged views on issues related to Sierra Leone.
