Ambassador Li Jinjun Donates Money to the Myanmar Red Cross Society for the Earthquake and Tsunami Disasters on behalf of the Red Cross Society of China

On December 31, Chinese Ambassador Li Jinjun went to the Myanmar Red Cross Society, donating US$20,000 for disaster relief efforts and expressing deep condolences to the Myanmar people hit by the disaster on behalf of the Red Cross Society of China. Receiving the donation, President of Myanmar Red Across Society Dr. Kyaw Win indicated that, compared with neighboring countries, Myanmar suffered from the disaster to a lower degree, but the disaster has caused some casualties and building collapses in Gaodang in south of Myanmar-Thailand border area. At present, related Myanmar organizations including the Red Cross Society are engaged in the aid work, and the US$20,000 of donation provided by the Red Cross Society of China will help restore the normal life and production order in and the reconstruction of disaster-hit areas. Dr. Kyaw Win, on behalf of the Myanmar government and the Red Cross Society, expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese government and the Red Cross Society of China.
