|Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua of Pakistan|
On August 22, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with visiting Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua of Pakistan.
Wang Yi said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners and the two countries always support each other on issues concerning respective core interests. Against the current backdrop of the complex and changeable international and regional situations, the strategic significance of China-Pakistan relations becomes more prominent. China appreciates Pakistan's efforts in fighting against terrorism and safeguarding security of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and stands ready to enhance all-round cooperation with Pakistan in a bid to achieve common development.
Tehmina Janjua said that Pakistan and China are "iron friends". No matter what happened in the domestic political situation in Pakistan, the country will not change its friendly policy toward China. Pakistan will as always firmly stand together with China on issues concerning China's core interests and make concerted efforts with China in facilitating the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, so as to promote bilateral relations for constant and new progress.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional situation and topics of common concern.
