Li Keqiang Sends Congratulatory Message to Peter O'Neill on His Re-election as Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea

On August 4, 2017, Premier Li Keqiang sent a congratulatory message to Peter O'Neill on his re-election as Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea.

Li Keqiang expressed in the congratulatory message that China-Papua New Guinea relations have achieved substantial development since both countries established diplomatic relations in 1976. Both sides share political mutual respect, mutually beneficial economic cooperation, and mutual support on multilateral affairs. The development of bilateral relations brought tangible benefits to the two peoples, and also promoted the stability and prosperity in Pacific Island countries. I look forward to making joint efforts with you to deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and push bilateral strategic partnership for further development, in a bid to better benefit the two peoples.
