Foreign Minister Wang Yi Makes Special Report for Center Group of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Conducts Research on Implementing Preparatory Work for BRICS Summit in Xiamen

At the invitation of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Deputy Director of the Preparatory Committee for the BRICS Summit in 2017 and Foreign Minister Wang Yi left for Fuzhou on July 17, 2017 to make a special report for the center group of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee on studying and carrying out General Secretary Xi Jinping’s thought on diplomacy and traveled to Xiamen to conduct research on implementing the preparatory work for the BRICS Summit in Xiamen.

Combining the great achievements that have been made in diplomatic work since the 18th CPC National Congress, Foreign Minister Wang Yi introduced the understanding and experience of studying and carrying out General Secretary Xi Jinping’s thought on diplomacy through numerous vivid diplomatic practices. It is hoped that Fujian Province could, under the unified leadership and deployment of the central government, bring into full play of its characteristic and advantages that oversea Fujianese are dwelling all over the world, and closely integrate the needs of diplomatic works, so as to better serve the country’s overall diplomacy.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi conducted field inspection on relevant sites of the BRICS Summit in Xiamen, and made research on implementing all preparatory work such as the organization, security, news, and publicity for the summit with comrades of Fujian Province and Xiamen. Wang Yi expressed that the preparatory work has entered a countdown stage. It is believed that Fujian will make persistent efforts and pursue perfection to make Xiamen Summit the most successful, most wonderful and most unforgettable landmark meeting.
