The 6th World Peace Forum Held in Beijing

On June 24, 2017, the 6th World Peace Forum, themed On Challenges to International Security: Joint Efforts, Responsibility and Reform, was held in Tsinghua University. Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Arken Imibakhi attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Chairman of the Forum Tang Jiaxuan and more than 450 Chinese and foreign guests were present at the forum.

Arken Imibakhi said that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, President Xi Jinping has put forward a series of new ideas, new visions and new initiatives with Chinese characteristics on international relations. These new ideas have been warmly received by the international community. We are now in an era of great progress, great transformation and profound changes. China has been and will always be a staunch force for world peace and common development. China advocates promoting security through greater development, promoting security through greater cooperation, promoting security through more dialogues, and promoting security through more cultural exchanges, We should make concerted effort to address the international security challenges, build a community of shared future for mankind, where countries work together, help each other and share weal and woe, and build a better world of lasting peace and common security.
