| UN chief to visit China |

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will visit China from July 1 to 3 at the invitation of the Chinese government, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, 10 June 2008. Detailed arrangements of the visit were still being discussed, ministry spokesman Qin Gang said in Beijing at a regular press conference. Ban visited China's quake-stricken Sichuan Province on May 24. He went to the epicenter of the 8.0-magnitude earthquake on May 12 to express his sympathy for those who had suffered.
