|Ambassador Wang Guangya Meeting with Summer Interns of the United Nations|

On 1 July, Ambassador Wang Guangya, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, met with over 60 United Nations summer interns at the office building of the Chinese Mission. Ambassador Wang started by briefing the group of the work of the mission, followed by China's position on the role of the United Nations and on multilateralism. During the Q&A session, Ambassador Wang discussed with the group the six-party talks on the DPRK nuclear issue, UN reform, China's energy and sustainable development policies, human rights and sovereignty, democratization, the role of NGOs, economic and democratic development in Hong Kong, and protection of ethnic minority including that in Tibet. Discussions were conducted in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. The interns expressed their thanks to Ambassador Wang for finding time to meet them and having a fruitful discussion.
