Q: On September 21, a terrorist attack took place in Nairobi, capital of Kenya, causing heavy casualties. What is China's comment?

A: China resolutely opposes terrorism in all manifestations, strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Kenya's capital Nairobi, and expresses deep condolences to the victims and sincere solicitude to the bereaved families and the injured. As a good friend of Kenya, China will continue its staunch support for Kenya's efforts to safeguard national security and regional stability.

Paying high attention to the incident, the Chinese Foreign Ministry and Embassy in Kenya launched the emergency mechanism in a timely fashion. Based on the information collected and verified up till now, one Chinese citizen has been confirmed dead and another injured. The Embassy in Kenya has sent a working team to condole with the bereaved family and visit the injured at the hospital. They have also required the Kenyan side to make an all-out effort to treat and cure the Chinese injured, cooperate to properly deal with matters concerning the death of the Chinese citizen and take concrete measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in Kenya. The Foreign Ministry and the Embassy in Kenya will continue to follow closely the developments, further verify the situation and render full assistance to relevant Chinese in dealing with the aftermath and seeking treatment.
