Q: What is the significance of President Xi Jinping's visits to America?

A: President Xi Jinping's visits to Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica and Mexico and meeting with US President Barack Obama are of great significance. During their meeting, President Xi Jinping and President Obama will have an extensive and in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of common interest. It is believed that this meeting is important to the long-term, sound and steady development of China-US relations as well as regional and international peace, stability and prosperity. US National Security Advisor Thomas Donilon will visit China from May 26 to 28 to prepare for the meeting between the two presidents.

President Xi Jinping's visits to Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica and Mexico will give a strong boost to the all-round and in-depth development of relations between China and the above three countries and lend fresh impetus to China's relations with Latin America and the Caribbean. Preparations for President Xi's visits to the three countries are in full swing.
