Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang's Remarks on the China-US High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange and the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogues (S&ED)

2013/04/14

Q: Did China and the US discuss the next round of China-US High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange and the S&ED during US Secretary of State John Kerry's visit to China?

A: During US Secretary of State Kerry's visit to China, the Chinese and US sides discussed and reached consensus on the China-US High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange and the S&ED. Vice Premier Liu Yandong continues to serve as the Chinese president for the China-US High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange. Vice Premier Wang Yang and State Councilor Yang Jiechi are responsible for the economic dialogue and strategic dialogue respectively as special representatives of the Chinese head of state. The two sides agreed to hold the fifth S&ED in the US in early July and hold the fourth China-U.S. High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange at an appropriate time afterward.
