The United Nations is the most universal and representative intergovernmental organization in the world. It provides an important platform for countries to work together to confront global challenges, strive for mutual benefit and win-win progress, and build a harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity.
Since the restoration of its lawful seat in the United Nations in 1971, the People’s Republic of China has consistently adhered to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, taken an active part in UN affairs, and contributed significantly to world peace and development. China firmly supports the United Nations in playing a leadership role in world affairs, and will work with all countries in the world for the lofty cause of promoting peace and development of mankind.
